Take to the Green in Style January 21, 2009 Greg Norman Collection and Vantage Apparel licensing agreement targets corporate sales channel
By Jeanie Casison
Whether participating in a charity event, a friendly tournament with colleagues or a casual business outing, more golfers can take to the green in style as a result of a new licensing agreement between Greg Norman Collection and Vantage Apparel. Under the new partnership, the existing sales force will remain intact, and Vantage Apparel will sell and distribute the golf-inspired sportswear to the corporate marketplace.
"We have a very good position established in the corporate market as a better fashion and technical oriented brand. Everything we distribute to the corporate market at the Greg Norman Collection is designed in-house and merchandised and sourced from the same factories as the green-grass golf collection that appears in stores," says Michael Setola, president and CEO of the Greg Norman Collection
"But how do we grow this business significantly and maintain positioning of the brand and not diminish the brand price point, style or value? We realized to get to the next level we have to significantly improve customer service, marketing and relationships at the distributor level. We made a point of bringing in the experts as opposed to making a large investment, so we turned to Vantage," he says.
Corporate buyers of the Greg Norman Collection can select from the same products in the top 100 golf clubs and the best department stores in the United States and 14 countries around the world. New products available to end-users include the water-resistant Packable Jacket and the high-end luxury ML50 Polo, a lightweight and wrinkle-free option ideal for the course.
