TharpeRobbins' Omni Solutions Gets a Green Makeover
February 10, 2009
By Alex Palmer

The TharpeRobbins Company, Inc. has announced a new look to go along with the new green sensibility of its employee reward program, Omni Solutions. Beginning this month, recipients of an Omni award will receive a special black box framed by an embossed foil stamp, with a custom cover and magnetic closure (see picture). The package also features a personalized, bound booklet including items from telescopes to jewelry and even artwork.

The new look is meant to make the presentation as exciting to the winner as the award itself—selected from 1,500 award choices in the Omni program's 19 distinct budget levels. Along with the new booklets, TharpeRobbins is also introducing mini boxes to enclose smaller awards such as clocks, watches and pens.

These new boxes are made entirely of recycled material and the boxes themselves can be recycled. This environmentally responsible sensibility expands on the company's other green efforts that were announced at the end of 2008. In the Omni catalog, awards are now distinguished as "Omni Green Solutions" if they are made of recycled products or are manufactured through green processes and include items such as eco-friendly bags, organic fragrances and natural bath and relaxation items. The catalog also distinguishes "Omni Community Solutions"—gifts for which a portion is donated to charity, such as pottery that benefits the Lance Armstrong Livestrong Fund and art benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

"It's been a smash hit, our customers are loving it,"
says Anthony Luciano, senior vice president of sales and marketing for TharpeRobbins. "The most unique aspect of the updated Omni program is that it offers employees the chance to do something good for others with their reward. In other words they can 'pay it forward.'"

In addition to these sustainability efforts, every catalog for the new Omni Program will be digitally bound so there will no longer be any loose pages.

"Everything we try to do as green as possible," says Luciano.
