Safety comes first on the job, and recognition programs can be an effective tool in inspiring positive behavior and practices. Whether the goal is to prevent accidents, decrease worker compensation claims or any other organizational objective, help is on the way. Michael C. Fina, a provider of reward and recognition solutions with headquarters in New York City, recently announced the launch of the Workplace Safety Recognition Program.
A new addition to the Michael C. Fina One Source Total Recognition suite of products, the web-based Workplace Safety Recognition Program focuses on the use of recognition and non-cash awards to reinforce companies' safety goals. The turn-key solution can be used for peer-to-peer nomination programs, a point-based system and other initiatives. UPS, J.B. Hunt, Penske and WIKA Instrument Corporation are just a few of the companies that have turned to Michael C. Fina for assistance with their safety programs.
Apparently there is good reason to care about the welfare of workers. "By increasing workplace safety you decrease costs associated with accidents and injuries," says Michael A. Fina, vice president and owner of Michael C. Fina. "The purpose of this type of reward and recognition program is to drive safer work in organizations that will number one get everyone home safe at the end of the day and number two that will drive savings to a corporation. The Occupational Safety Health Administration also agrees that employee recognition establishes a culture in which employees of the company help promote safety procedures and safe work while on the job."
While all companies can benefit from being safe, the Michael C. Fina Workplace Recognition program is particularly suited to industries such as transportation, manufacturing, healthcare and construction.
