Beijing Tourism Administration to Partner CIBTM March 11, 2009 Paul Kennedy MBE appointed advisor to BTA
CIBTM, the China Incentive Business Travel and Meetings Exhibition announced that the Beijing Tourism Administration (BTA) is to provide substantial support and endorsement as the host destination to the event which takes place from Sept 8 - 10 2009 at Beijing's new state of the art China National Convention Centre (CNCC).
At the same time, Paul Kennedy MBE, group exhibitions director for Reed Travel Exhibitions Meeting and Incentives portfolio, has become an advisor to the Beijing Tourism Administration. This role will last for two years and provides strategic advice to help accelerate the development and standards of Beijing's tourism industry, and to assist with the growth of inbound travel with specific relevance to the meetings, incentives, conferences and events (MICE) industry.
CIBTM is the key MICE platform for the city of Beijing and China and BTA considers the event a key opportunity to maximise awareness of the Olympic legacy along with the infrastructure now in place to enhance the city’s status as a world-class meetings and incentives destination
In order to achieve specific goals relating to its post Olympic tourism strategy, BTA's partnership adds a significant level of resource behind CIBTM, which will look to create an enhanced programme of education, experiential and business generating activities both on and off the show floor.
Through BTA's support, CIBTM will create a broader Hosted Buyer programme, deliver a series of high quality networking events and bring together the widest ever range of Beijing-based MICE (meetings industry) tourism suppliers and operators under a Beijing Pavilion.
