Aloha Maui: New Resort to Open
January 07, 2009
Honua Kai Resort & Spa to open on North Beach of Kaanapali
By Jeanie Casison

Hawaii ranks high on many travelers' wish lists. If the island vibe seems fitting for future incentive programs, planners have a new place to scope out—the Honua Kai Resort & Spa. Situated in Maui on 38 acres of Kaanapali's North Beach, the luxury resort is slated to open in two phases. The Hokulani building with 318 guest suites, lobby café, pool and fitness center debuts later this month, while the Konea building featuring 310 guest suites, lobby café, beachside restaurant, two pools and a spa will see an unveiling in spring 2010.

There is no shortage of recreation at Honua Kai Resort & Spa with convenient access to championship golf courses, cultural attractions and ocean sports, such as snorkeling and diving nearby. Onsite leisure activities include a dunes preservation program, an artist initiative and a camp for children.

The Honua Kai Resort & Spa is a development of Maui Beach Resort Limited Partnership, a joint venture of Intrawest and Ledcor, and managed by Intrawest Hospitality Management.
