The Power of Small
April 22, 2009
In their new book The Power of Small, authors Linda Kaplan Thaler and Robin Koval assert that the way to begin rebuilding your career and even the economy starts with attention to the small details.

Kaplan Thaler and Koval encourage readers to put their theories into practice by making small changes, including taking baby steps, making small talk, going the extra inch, and watching for cues and clues. According to The Power of Small, anyone can make important changes in their life by making small goals, rereading reports or paying attention to coworkers' body language.

The Power of Small includes anecdotes about many different people who got big results from small changes, such as a woman whose life was saved when she made small talk with a stranger and a busboy who got a $150,000 when he had a small idea that saved millions of dollars for his employer.

Each chapter begins with a quote by a famous person such as Mother Teresa ("We can do no great things—only small things with great love.") and Mark Twain ("I can live for two months on a good compliment.").
