Innovation Podcast Series Launched to Educate Leaders on Sustainable Economic Growth
March 25, 2009
X Prize Foundation and BT Global Services release 10-part series that highlights how innovation can solve some of the world's greatest challenges, even during uncertain times
The X PRIZE Foundation, an educational non-profit prize institute dedicated to fostering radical breakthroughs for the benefit of humanity, and BT Global Services, a global provider of communications solutions and services, recently announced the launch of a new collaborative video podcast series titled "Innovation in Action."

The series, comprised of 10 episodes, which will be distributed throughout the year, will explore how innovation can help solve some of today's grand challenges and why it is the key to surviving through tough economic times. The series also highlights companies, entrepreneurs and individuals who are leveraging this concept to reduce energy consumption, increase business efficiency, save money, and sustain the planet.

The first episode in this series focuses on energy and how BT and The X PRIZE Foundation are maximizing this critical resource. The video highlights BT's IT network solutions and how these services have helped Cameron, a provider of flow equipment products, systems and services, to reduce energy consumption and increase collaboration during its rapid worldwide expansion.

The second episode takes a look at the collaboration between The X PRIZE Foundation, the U.S. Department of Energy, and Discovery Education to create a one-stop educational Web platform called FuelOurFutureNow.com. This online classroom resource helps teachers engage elementary through high school aged children in the global energy and alternative fuels debate.

Future podcast episodes will focus on sectors vital to BT's business structure and areas where entrepreneurs, educators, scientists, investors, and the business community are blending resources to shape our future. These sectors include: Commerce, Health & Life Sciences, Media & Broadcast, and Financial Services.
