• Acron Capability Engineering released Acron ESP HLA (High Level Architecture) Interface for the Microsoft ESP visual simulation platform. The technology allows military simulators to use the Microsoft ESP platform for immersive learning experiences.
• Transcender, a part of Kaplan IT Learning, and provider of exam preparation software for IT certification tests, released practice exams for Microsoft's new Windows Server 2008 certification track.
• Christie introduced the Christie HD405, a new projector that combines DLP image quality with full 1080p resolution. It is designed for use in small to medium-sized conference rooms, boardrooms, and training rooms.
• NetOp Tech Inc., a subsidiary of Danish IT company Danware A/S, announced the launch of NetOp Mobile and Embedded Guest, remote-control software that allows technical IT support from mobile devices such as handheld PCs and cell phones. The software enables help desk employees not only to provide support to field workers with mobile devices, but to provide that support from another mobile device.
• Cisco and Pearson VUE are implementing ongoing security enhancements in a series of planned upgrades. Cisco now requires all VUE test centers that deliver Cisco certification exams to collect digital photos and digital signatures during the admissions process, in addition to the current identification requirements.
