• Trivantis Corporation, a provider of e-learning authoring and publishing tools, rolled out its new Lectora 2008 line of software. The technology includes Flash conversion, help agents (video tutorials), a media library, and certificate tool.
• Right Management launched iView, a Web-based interview practice technology, which, when combined with personalized coaching, is designed to help job candidates improve their career prospects.
• iLinc Communications, Inc., started a blog. Company executives such as CEO James Powers will blog regularly about the Web conferencing industry, distance and e-learning best practices, tips on improving meetings, online training, and other topics. You can log onto it at www.ilinc.com/blog/.
• O'Reilly Community Press published the second edition of "Using Moodle," a how-to about Moodle, an open-source course management system. The book is written for instructors who use Moodle to teach or enhance courses. It covers Moodle 1.8, is tied to the Moodle Teacher Certifications standards, and includes best practices for using Moodle.
• SyMplify Technologies enhanced its Human Resources Management software (HRMS). Formerly known as OneApp HR, the upgraded technology—renamed WorkPlace EMP—offers improved compliance tracking and reporting capabilities. It's designed to reduce time spent on new hires, termination, and open enrollment.
• The American College, a provider of training for financial services companies, released The Designation Toolkit, to help financial firms figure out which professional designations to recognize, and which to avoid (theamericancollege.edu/ designationtoolkit).
